I’ve been a Bahá’í since my teens and have long tried to live up to the Bahá’í principles of consultation, inclusion and justice. Probably my favourite quotation from the Bahá’í texts is “Let your vision be world-embracing, rather than confined to your own self” which I’ve adopted as the guiding principle in my work.
Everyone comes from somewhere. I’m proud of the place where I was born and raised – Glasgow – and also of the city I’ve lived in half my life – Leicester. You’ll find the best of both worlds in my work.
I was pleasantly surprised when a colleague described me as “naturally culturally curious”. I’ve always been interested in what other people believe, how they live, their aspirations in life – and how we can all get along with each other.
